I love the playmaker. Easily the fastest skater (and yes they definitely are different) who is agile. Good hands, decent shot and manageable defensively and if you generate enough momentum you can hit.

I like the balance of a TWD.

For goalies, butterfly cause the reflexes are better and goalie makes more saves.

I live on Power Forward when I'm playing forward. I don't usually take much use in my hands, but I do play more on the physical side so the extra strength and body checking is welcome while not limiting myself offensively. The extra strength also helps out a ton with not getting knocked off the puck.

On Defense, I'm DFD. I play a stay-at-home style and thus don't need much in the way of offensive or dynamic skill. The strength allows me to hold the blue-line well, as well as allowing me to clear out the slot when needed.

For goalie, I don't really have a preference; I've just been using whatever one I don't have saves maxed out on, which is Stand-up right now. Badges aside, Butterfly is my favorite.

Powerforward is just so damn slow. Not edges, no explosiveness, no straight line speed. I can't handle it. Same with DFD.

It just fits my playing style. I'm not one for flashy play. I'm more of a pass-first player and I usually will pass to an open player who perhaps has more skill when I enter the zone. I also usually man the slot in the offensive zone; most of my goals are in close, so the added strength also is a big help there. The physicality also is really helpful for my defensive game since I can plough through pretty much anybody who didn't go power forward or grinder.

DFD is the same way. I'm a full-fledged stay at home defender. I almost never join the rush. The speed and agility is of no use to me, but the physicality and defensive categories are.

You can manage to score from the dirty areas as a smaller, more skilled and faster build like playmaker. It's all about timing. I've had my fair share of tip in, cross creases and rebounds. The only thing is that I can't stay out front is most cases cause then I'll get smashed.

But that's what I'm saying. I play a power game, not a finesse one. On the defensive side I use the body checking ability of the power forward heavily. I'm not one of those guys who racks up 20 hits per game but body checking is very helpful for shutting the opposition down, at least for my playing style.
